Complaint What Happened I received a letter only, never a call from a collection agency about a debt for tuition. I had federal financial aid for the courses but the school returned the aid when I could no longer attend due to XXXX. The school never sent me correspondence or called about the debt so I did t know it existed until XXXX when I received a letter from a company requesting the money. I sent the collection agency a letter disputing the charge as I had spoke to the school when I withdrew and was told everything was fine and no one from the school mentioned a balance. The collection agency did not respond to my request for supporting documentation and this date I received notification from all three credit bureaus that the account was in collections. This is low affecting my credit score yet I had no opportunity to review documentation supporting the debt. The school was XXXX University and the debt collector is Account Controls Technology. I have worked hard to protect my credit and this is u fair reporting as so should have been afforded the opportunity to review the supporting documentation of the debt to determine my responsibility.
