Citation text line | 29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt shall be worn and a lanyard attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift. Note to paragraph (b)(2)(v): As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated under 1926.502(e). (a) In front of the hotel - On or about October 9, 2014 two employee were exposed to a fall hazard while working in a JLG-860SJ Telescopic Boom Lift serial no. 54777-0492. These employees were elevated 35 feet above concrete without fall protection. |

Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. Jobsite - On or about June 06, 2012 an employee was installing at wood top plate along a 6 inch parapet while standing on the edge of a flat roof with no fall protection. The employee was exposed to a fall of 19 feet 04 inches. |
